Summer Paving Schedule

Paving & Planting Scheduled to Complete Sewer & Water Main Projects

Installing new sewer and water mains this year and last has taken its toll on Littleton’s roads and the front lawns along the route. Both the Littleton Common sewer project and the Littleton portion of the Whitcomb Avenue water main extension project are wrapping up soon. Paving roads and repairing lawns will follow. (The water main extension project is ongoing in Boxborough on Beaver Brook Road, with Swanson and Codman Hill roads to follow.)

The paving schedules are subject to change, but they offer an estimate of when to expect smooth pavement. Final paving must wait at least three months, if not longer, to allow for the trench patch to settle.

The contractors are required to repair and seed damaged turf at the end of the project – typically after the final road paving. The project specifications call for any planting to occur between April 15 and June 1 or between August 15 and October 30. Planting done in the summer must include irrigation at the contractor’s expense.
